IZW Adrenaline January 18th Review

“IZW Adrenaline” returned on January 18 with its weekly, 2-hour, ongoing series on GFL.tv with another bone breaking show featuring the top pro wrestlers in the territory. Plenty of bodies were shattered as feuds hit a boiling point as “Violent Valentine” on February 1 is right around the corner.

The Lights Out Lounge kicked off the show as Jordan Jacobs (@JacobsLightsOut) interviewed the KC Wolves [Luke Langley (@LukeLangleyMD) & Graham Bell (@GrahamBellWPE)]. Jacobs wondered aloud what the KC Wolves even did to deserve a chance at facing WWSB at “Violent Valentine” for the tag team gold. “Larger Than Life” Jermaine Johnson (@JermaineAboutME) entered the ring to try and blindside the Wolves but when it was all over, Johnson was on the wrong end of a Manhattan Project (Death Valley Driver onto the knee) by Langley, while Bell gave Jacobs a Knuillotine (knee drop bulldog). The Wolves made a statement with how they dropped WWSB in quick order in this impromptu brawl.

Langley stayed in the ring as he took on IZW Impact Division Champion “Big, Bad & Sexy” Angel Camacho (A_Camacho0986) in the first bout. Langley showed off his speed advantage as he dropped Camacho with several well placed kicks but Camacho closed the distance and was able to use his strength advantage as well as his ornery side as he butt bumped and choked Langley at one point, followed by a release German suplex that sapped out most of Langley’s strength and cardio advantage. Langley retaliated with a tornado DDT from the top rope that put Camacho on Easy Street. Langley added an enziguri kick and drop kick from the top rope for a two count. But the Champion would not be denied on this night as he hit Langley with a modified crucifix powerbomb followed by a BBS Splash (big, bad, sexy splash) as Camacho picked up the pinfall.

“Big Business” Damon Windsor (@DamonWindsor) took on “The Butterscotch Stallion” Mark Wilson (@bsstallion) next. Wilson was no match for Windsor on this night as Impact Elite was banned from ringside. Wilson used every trick he could think of, at one point even dropping Windsor with a pair of brass knuckles, and locking on a figure four, but Windsor fought out of the hold with ease and choke slammed Wilson into next week to pick up the violent win.

Queen’s Crown Champion Miss Diss Lexia (@missdiss_lexia) took on the returning Paige Turner next in a non-title bout. MDL won the bout with her modified Death Valley Driver as she took out Turner. Turner showed a lot of improvement from the last time she was in an IZW ring, but MDL was on a different level as every time Turner got a bit of momentum, the Champion was there to cut her off at the legs, either with a hard clothesline, suplex or drop kick. MDL now sets her sights on defending her title against her arch nemesis Erica (@Lady_Of_Impact) at “Violent Valentine”.

“The Urban Legend” Drake Gallows (@DG_urbanlegend) took on Graham Bell in a fast paced match. Both men showed off their wrestling pedigree as Gallows body slammed Bell and used his power to ground Bell for a time, but Bell responded with accurate kicks that opened Gallows up for Bell to utilize even more strikes including a leg lariat. Gallows responded with a suplex and kept Bell on the mat with a side choke and hit another suplex that bent Bell in half. Bell would not stay down as he retaliated with more kicks as both men could hardly stand at this point. Both men showed they had spent hours breaking down wrestling video and were ready for anything the other dished out as at one point Bell went for Sliced Bread #2 only to be caught by Gallows who tried to destroy Bell with an Emo Killer, when Bell in turn slid out of the move and kicked Gallows in the face. Both Gallows and Bell continued to match each other move for move. As the bout wore on, the veteran Gallows got stronger and stronger. Gallows missed with a moonsault but recovered enough to hit an Emo Killer for the finish moments later.

Gallows and Angel Camacho got an early start on their upcoming title match as they attacked one another in the backstage area. Both men took nasty spills on the hard concrete and it only shows that once they lockup for their Impact Rules Match that they will do whatever is necessary, even if it means injuring themselves to destroy one another.

In the main event, IZW Champion “The Natural Born Leader & Savior of Wrestling” Johnny Z (@NBL_JohnnyZ) & IZW Tag Champion Jermaine Johnson teamed up to take on “Bad” Brad Michaels (@OldSchool_Brad) & Double D (@IZWDoubleD). Z and Michaels locked up first giving the fans a preview of their World Title match on February 1. Michaels hit the bigger Z with two hip tosses, a body slam and drop kick that had the Champion reeling. Z took a moment outside of the ring to compose himself before being sling-shot back into the squared circle by Michaels who continued to put a beating on Johnny Z. A double back drop by Z and Johnson changed the tone of the match in a hurry. Johnson and Double D both tagged in for their respective teams and D lit Johnson’s chest up with knife edge chops followed by a head scissors that Johnson somehow found a way to use the momentum to bounce off his head and onto his feet in one move! It was the move of the year so far in any wrestling organization, but it was short lived as D buried another chop deep into Johnson’s chest and sent him crashing to the mat. Z tagged back in and he and Johnson hit a huge back body drop on Double D. Z sunk in a cravat hold that twisted D’s neck into a 90 degree angle. Finally, D broke free, hit knees in the corner but got caught with a sitdown power bomb by Z that rattled the foundation of the Impact Arena. Johnson tagged back in as did Michaels and Michaels connected with a dragon screw. The move hobbled Johnson and allowed Michaels to land punches and kicks at will. Johnson crawled on his knees and tagged in Z and they added a double suplex before Johnson exited the ring. Michaels recovered enough to hit a swinging neck breaker but Z responded with a DDT. A rear chin lock sapped even more strength out of Michaels. Johnson was back in and added a seven-second stalled out suplex into the mix that almost put Michaels down for the pinfall. Z tagged back in and proceeded to humiliate Michaels even more with taunts and boots to the head. Z missed with a Big Boot in the corner, but Michaels was still unable to tag in the much fresher Double D. The match deteriorated into a wild melee at this point with all four men in the ring and Michaels and D adding drop kicks and back body drops into the mix that crumbled Impact Elite. IE scuttled out of the ring only to be flattened once again with a double dose of flying cross bodies from Michaels and D. Michaels and Z moved back into the ring where Z ducked a clothesline attempt and connected with a floatover DDT. But with Z distracted about the outside the ring happenings between Johnson and D, it gave Michaels time to recover enough and hit a super kick for the pinfall in a crazy end to a thrilling main event.
