“The Shooter” Brent Albright Is Ready to Deliver on Pay-Per-View at IZW’s Halloween Hangover

“There are some nights when people just want to see a fight.”

Professional wrestling is a business full of tough men. Few if any are tougher than “The Shooter” Brent Albright who wrestles “The Real Deal” Aaron Neil on November 5 at Halloween Hangover broadcasting live on GFL.tv. This is Albright’s first singles pay-per-view match in close to two years but for the Tulsa native, it couldn’t happen at a better time.

“I really enjoy working for IZW and I think what they’ve got going on is fantastic and I’m happy to be a part of it. IZW is full of great, young talent and I believe their partnership with GFL.tv is going to be very beneficial for everybody. It’s good for IZW, GFL.tv, Oklahoma wrestling and fans of pro wrestling,” Albright said.

Albright is probably best known by casual fans for his stint with the WWE on SmackDown as Gunner Scott where he was showcased on nearly every episode in the summer of 2006. But for avid fans, Albright had a national following years earlier because of his work in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), a WWE developmental territory during Albright’s tenure, from 2004 – 2006 where he was the most dominant wrestler in that organization. Albright was the first Triple Crown Champion of OVW winning the Heavyweight, Television and Tag Team Titles during his run. Albright continued to build on his career when he competed for Ring of Honor (ROH) from 2006 – 2009. During his ROH run, Albright also won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in 2008. The same belt and lineage that the best in the world have worn at one time or another including such wrestling luminaries as Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Dory Funk, Terry Funk and Harley Race.

Always known for his grappling prowess, Albright has been called a wizard in the squared circle. With a mixture of a Mid-South, Southern style meshed with a strong West Coast influence, Albright has carved out his own unique wrestling style that has made him a one of a kind in a business that is hard to find a true original.

Albright will look to showcase his full repertoire against Neil on Saturday night at the Impact Arena in Lawton, Oklahoma and for fans watching around the world on GFL.tv. “Aaron Neil is the real deal. He’s everything he said he was; 6’2”, 300 lb. But he hasn’t done what I’ve done. He lacks the type of experience it takes to compete with someone like me. And it’s not just about wrestling. It’s not just about body slams and clotheslines. It’s the mental aspect. And it’s the mental aspect that Aaron Neil doesn’t have” Albright quipped.

“He lost a match because of a count out. A count out! He wanted to come help one of his buddies because I was ripping his arm off. That’s just not smart. I put him through a wall just to let him know ‘This is who I am. This is what I can do.’ That wall is destroyed; it’s never going to be the same again. That wall could be a precursor to Aaron’s career after facing me on Saturday night at Halloween Hangover. Because when he’s done wrestling me, he’s going to say to himself, ‘I might not be in the right business. If this is the next level, if this is the top tier, I can’t hang.’ Because he can’t hang with me and he’s not going to be able to. Not now, not ever,” Albright continued.

Facing “The Shooter” Brent Albright would be tough enough for most wrestlers, but for Neil, that is only the beginning of what will no doubt be the most physically demanding night of his professional career. It’s a fact that’s not lost on Albright.

“Aaron’s also got something else to think about and that’s the Monsters Bash Battle Royal. Every wrestler in the locker room will be competing in that battle royal, with the winner getting a title shot for the heavyweight title. It’s already been determined that Aaron Neil is the number one entry in that match. So not only is he going to take a physical and mental beating from me earlier in the night, after that he is going to literally have to go through the entire roster to get what he so desperately wants and that’s a title shot at the IZW Heavyweight Championship. But what he wants and what he’s going to get are two completely different things,” Albright stated.

Albright’s still a 100% badass and one of the best technical wrestlers in the world and for wrestling fans that’s a great thing. But sometimes that can lead to becoming a bully. The only problem for Albright is his opponent Aaron Neil can be just as punishing and brutal inside of the ring. This match will be the bout every fan is talking about the next day. It will showcase the heart and soul of what IZW is all about. Tough men in a very tough business.

The entire card reads as follows.
